Have you tried it?  DHCP is a superset of bootp - one the the defining RFCs
says that DHCP clients *may* work with bootp servers.  I haven't dug into
the beta stack to see if it will work or not yet.

The Trumpet Winsock will work over Class 1 (ethernet) and
Class 6 (slip) packet drivers.  I am fairly sure that it will not
work over otherpacket drivers, unless these drivers can fake class 1
emulation, kind of like ETHERSLIP or C/SLIPPER is ethernet emulation
mode.

I don't know diddly about appletlk.com, but it may not be too
difficult to add.  Take a look at the etherslip source code as
a starting point.

Subject: Questions on Cello ver. 1.01a

Hi,

      I downloaded the Cello ver 1.01a from ftp.law.cornell.edu this morning
and tried to run it and found following questions:

    (1) I launched the telnet session (using Cello internel telnet not other
telnet application) and found that after I keyed in user id and it hanged
without asking me to enter the password.

   (2) I launched the ftp session. It worked find under trumpet winsock stack,
but it caused GPF under Netmanage's Chameleon winsock stack and my own
winsock stack.

   Is there any one who knows why?
